Sustainable model
Donation Pool charges 0% platform commission, always: the donor pays exactly the amount they choose to give to the cause, with no commission markup added to their payment. The platform's only revenue is a tip: each campaign's creator can enable it if they want, to help sustain it. It's never mandatory — entirely voluntary — and they can turn it off completely whenever they want. When it exists, it's deducted from what's raised and never added to what the donor pays. Stripe's payment processing cost — which varies by card origin and payment method, never a fixed figure — is no longer calculated or passed on by the platform: it is taken automatically by the beneficiary's own Stripe account, at whatever rate Stripe applies. Payments run as a direct charge on the beneficiary's standard Stripe account, with no destination charges and no platform commission deducted from what is raised. The tip funds the team, maintenance, and the advertising and visibility Donation Pool gives campaigns.
